Jan uses the marbling of the opalescent glass to create scenes, which are attached to hardibacker board or Italian terra cotta saucers and finished with colored sanded grout. An acrylic/latex mortar additive is mixed in the grout for sealing and elasticity. All designs are original and all glass pieces are cut by hand or with a band saw. Polished rocks, decorator marbles, slabs of agate, crystals and metallic foil are added to many of her designs to create this unique visual dimension.
